Slate

Nabresina
The favourite limestone in the memorial industry, this beautiful stone carves crisply and is a perfect choice for the UK climate. It is off – white in colour, with an even grey flecked pattern.
Celtic
Celtic or Irish Blue Limestone is a robust, premium natural stone sourced form Kilkenny in Southern Ireland. Its blue grey tones make it a very natural alternative to slate.
Portland
Quarried on the Isle of Portland, just off the Dorset coast, this hardy stone has been used for memorials and buildings for centuries. A stone often used for Commonwealth war graves it has a consistent warm creamy white colour.
Yorkstone
A warm, honey coloured stone which has been used to make memorials for centuries, Yorkshire sandstone headstones are often seen in churchyards and the older parts of cemeteries.
Widely appreciated for its organic feel Yorkstone slowly takes on the colours of its surroundings, gently becoming a very natural part of it’s environment.
Purbeck
Purbeck limestone has been quarried since Roman times on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset in southern England. We like to use Purbeck Thornback which is rustic looking, speckled stone, or Purbeck Pond Freestone which offers a slightly warmer colouring than Nabresina, or Portland Limestone. Purbeck Limestones are lovely to work with allowing for beautiful deeply carved inscriptions.
